Memorial Day is a day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and died in battle. On May 5th 1856 the citizens of Waterloo town closed all their shops to decorate their graves. The official day to celebrate Memorial Day is specific but it is the last Monday of May.Some ways to honor and show respect on memorial day is to visit the graves of those that have fallen.

To honor those that have fallen, i will appreciate what we have because they gave their lives so we can enjoy ours. I feel like memorial day is one of the most important holidays because we are celebrating what we have. This is because others gave their lives do we can have what we have. We all have to thank those that aren't with us anymore because they gave their best so we can be alright.
